OMG! It was a 50 lap shoot out. Wait until he gets into a real race and Tony Jr. has to make decisions. That will be the measure of his season. It's easy to spot fans that never listen to Jr's radio either at the track or on track pass. They are the ones that blamed everything on DEI. Buy you the Track Pass from NASCAR.COM or road runner if you have it and listen to Jrs radio. The problem with his cars for the last couple years has been a short "between" the headset on the pit box.

I would be willing to bet the Tony Jr has to get his set ups approved from Knaus or someone in the Hendrix organization before he can put it on the car.

Besides, do you really think the 20, 24 and 48 are not going to press the issue a little harder when it is a points race? Wink

You sir have no clue as to what you are talkin about. I suppose that every time juniors motor blew up last year that was Tony Jr's fault right. And it is a plain and simple fact that DEI does not put racing as a priority. They and I mean primarily Teresa puts the marketing of her dead husbands name and likness above all else. She could care less about racing, she isn't even at the track for races. Just look at the way the #8 ran started up front but wasn't long before it was out of site, but i suppose Mark Martin can't drive or communicate either. Do you remember the time when a DEI car was feared in a restrictor plate race?? That all changed after Senior died.

Lets look at qualifing for the 500 Truex Jr is 40th and well Martin did do alittle better with 18th, But lets see how well it plays out when the race starts.

The difference now is that Hendricks put's money into testing and developing cars.....DEI simply doesn't. You can't drive what ya don't have and junior said it all last year.... just give me something I can drive.

Just my .02 worth

I'd say Jeff and Jimmie were racing pretty hard to be running up front in back-up cars not set up for Daytona Wink

I agree with ya hemiram32. Jeff and Jimmy didn't race that hard to make it from the back all the way to the front to not try for a win. And Tony is a pure competitor and would take a win regaurdless of points or not.

Please don't confuse your perception of me being clueless with your blind loyalty to Jr.
I have been to 11 NASCAR races listening to Jrs radio. I have followed NASCAR religeously for over 40 years. I have been a Jr. fan since he started the Bush series. I supose I am just as clueless as any other NASCAR fanatic but I am a realist. When I'm not at a race, I have listened to Jrs in car radio via track pass for the last 4 years. If you haven't, then you may want to reavaluate your perseption of me being clueless. I have heard the mistakes that Tony Jr has made first hand.

If you were a true Jr fan, you would have noticed that Jr himself has said on many occasions that Theresa and DEI were not at fault for the last couple seasons and in fact the difference between DEI and Hendricks is Hendricks got that much better. What most common fans don't see because they are blinded by loyalty is that team strength runs in cycles. It wasn't all that long ago that we were talking about the Rousch domination just after the DEI domination.

How is it that Truex made the Chase last year and Jr didn't? Motors at this level blow up more often than not due to gearing, BTW Jr mentioned twice that he over RPM's the motor in practice and Tony Jr decided not to change the motor before the race and then they blew up? Hmmmm. What's that you say? This was not sabatoge on Theresa's part? No, it has to be sabatoge. It can't be Tony's fault for making a bad decision.

If Mark Martin can't do anything with DEI it isn't because he can't drive. And as for Jeff, Jimmy and Tony not trying that is just a bunch of bull just look at what happened between Tony and Kurt and that wasn't even a real race. Dale Jr. is a good drive with the right equipment, which means that Hendrick Motorsports is going to be a very tuff team and Tony is all P.O.ed about the change to the TOY'S that I think he is going to do his thing and then jump ship as sson as his contract is up.

I'm not saying Jr can't drive. I'm not saying Hendricks wasn't a good move. BTW, which team did Big E drive for? Hmmmmmm RCR? Why not DEI? What I'm saying is the move could have been better if he would have left Tony Jr behind. Jr was having success with Tony Sr as his crew chief. Most forget the whole 15 and 8 car swappig thing which by the way was Tony Jrs doing because he and Jr couldn't get along.

Jr was sitting 128 points behind Harvick going in to Richmond, the final race before the Chase. How many points did Tony Jr cost Jr with the wing fine? 100? I have never heard Jr say "I can't drive this thing" so many times as I did last year.

I'm not 100% sure but I think it was Jayski that reported Hendricks did not want Tony Jr to come with Jr.

I do think that if Tony Jr pays attention to Knaus and Latarte, he could become a better CC. At the very least, the initial car set-ups will be better. That should illiminate a lot of problems on the pit box.

Just in case you missed it saturday night, with around 8 laps to go, Jr said, "Let me know when Jeff clears the 20 so we can drop to the bottom". Sure does sound like they were working together to me.
