It is said that newman signed a deal with stewart-hass racing and that david stremme will drive the #12 next year.I was always a newman fan but when he goes to chebby I go to Kahne! Mopar or no car for me.

ESPN jumped the gun as usual. ESPN reported that Newman agreed to a verbal deal with Stewart/Haas. Newman on the pre race Sunday said he did not and it could be up to 6 weeks before he comes to an agreement with anyone.

Stay tuned! Friday Newman is supposed to announce the move to Sewart/Haas. We'll see if ESPN gets it right this time.

None anymore. The rule has changed. They used to have to sell 501 models of a car to be able to run it in cup. I think that all went away in the early late 80s/early 90s. How many 2 door Taurus, Intrepids or Chargers have you seen? This is where all the contraversy starts when it comes to the Toyo motor. All manufacturers are currently using a production model block as a base while Toyo was given permission from NASCAR to develop a race block and motor because they didn't have a V8. Now Dodge should be running their new race motor a couple races, possibly starting in October.
