Anyone else notice a big loss in low end torque or power from putting a straight through muffler on their Hemi? I put on a Borla Pro XS 3" single in 2.5" dual out with turn downs. It just seemed like it had a lot less pep from take off. Is there another muffler that would keep from loosing to much back pressure? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

No but I did notice it a little bit with the header swap and you can really feel it with open headers.

Have you rest the ecm? Wont the truck will need to learn the exhaust? I know with every other car ive owned it needed to re-learn the airflow.

I did reset it when I put it on. I've had it on there for about 3mo I think.

 i didnt notice the full gain out of my CAI and exhaust until i reset the pcm2006 Black Mega Cab Current mods: Access tonneau cover, 3rd Strike CAI,Tekonsha PRIMUS Trailer Brake Controller, Sumitt Turbo Muffler, Tow Mirrors, Tranny Temp Gauge in SRT A Pillar, 3950 Cortex Superchip, Tinted front windows Pending Mods: Nerf Bars and sprayed in bed liner and what ever else i find on here    |

I've tried the reset trick on my truck and it never made a difference.

i put headers on my truck and lost low end,i added a 260 comp and was dissapointed in the results.then i got an a/f guage,my truck was running lean,inertia gave me a custom tune ,richend it up,the difference was amazing,even with all my mods my truck would barley turn the tires over.after i put in thier modified tune it walked sideways when i floored it and wouldnt stop burning rubber til i lifted my foot!gobs of torque!unfortunatly the very next day,my trany bit the dust!if you add headers spend the money for the a/f guage and custom tune.youll be glad you did!

With the Diablo 93 tune my AFRs were right on throughout the entire RPM range. I was surprised

I went from stock to a magnaflow cat-back SI/SO, and noticed a gain. I replaced the magnaflow with an Aero 3030 and there was a loss even compared to stock. I reset the PCM both times. I am putting the magnaflow back in as soon as I get back in town. The 2.5" out may be your problem. You may want to go down to 2.25" out.

i algo notice a gain in torque with the Magnaflow but the Pro XS are supposed to be one of the best in low end power, just give the PCM some time to adapt

Never noticed any lowend loss after I put on a borla XR1 and I believe its more of a high flow design than the Pro XS. What else are you running with it?

I've got the AERO 3030 and i've noticed a loss in low end as well. I did not recet the PCM but it's been on for several months now.

I have the same muffler which is the Borla ProXS 40349. I gained low end, mid range, and top end in my 08. I am very pleased with it. No drone which was the main reason I got it but it did help my power no doubt. On my 04 I used a Magnaflow and I lost a lot of low end( big top end gain )and was KILLED by the drone. I called it my Magnadrone system.
May have something to do with you dumping it?
