I had a FM 50HD installed a while back. The shop did a crap job. I like the sound but they used different sized pipes none of them mandrel bent. I talked to a guy at another shop and he said it would be $150 to $200 to clean it up. I have a 2x4.5 drop and the tailpipe hit the leaf springs. So now its dumped before the axle and still has some bad pipe work. My question is for that price would it be better to replace it with a cat back? Is there a CB that works with drops and goes close to the factory exit area?
This setup I had didnt have any drone and since its dumped it has a little.

Thanks Dean

With your truck being lowered you might be better off with the exhaust shop guy. The CB systems are made for factory trucks, no way of knowing if they will hit on anything. If you are happy with your FM, then just getting the pipes cleaned up would be cheaper than a new cat-back.

I found a good muffler guy Monday and went today to get it reworked. I will post some pics as soon as I can but his welds are body shop quality. He is going to do me a "Y" pipe for $60 installed. moon

Also he ran 3 inch all the way and reworked the Muffler for a 3 inch. Apparently the other shop used a 2.5 si/so muffler.

Yeah it really sounds better. The other shop cut the stock 3 inch befor th muffler and added a curvey "S" shaped 2.5 compression bent pipe to make up the difference in length. Then at the tail pipe section Im not sure why but they added a sction of bent 2.5 in it.

Now its one piece from the muffler back mandrel bent. Except for one bend right at the back. In order to make such a tight turn at the rear spring and between the body he had to do a compression bend but thats no big deal.
