i am looking to up the fuel mileage on my megacab. just ordered a sc tuner. prob going to put on a cold air intake as well.

want to keep the exhaust as quiet as possible and get better mileage. think i'll prob just cut out stock muffler and replace it rather than the whole cat-back...who do you reccomend?

I have a Magnaflow as a factory replacement and it's barely louder than stock until on it then sounds pretty good, not too loud and no interior resonance. It is a flow through design so my guess is it would be better for mpgs but I didn't notice any difference on mine. I only have a drop in K&N filter and dont have a tunner though. thumb2

i have had several magna flow systems and loved them...awesome tone...had flowmasters and hated them...flowmasters were poorly constructed

Ive seen it in once in someones signature line, not sure who. Someone else said theat they were going to order a muffler from aeroturbine and they told him that he had 30 days to return it if not satisfied. May not hurt to call and see about that, and also ask there opinion about what muffler is right for you.

There is NO muffler that is going to give you better mpg. Period. And how could you possibly find one quieter than the stock one?

I noticed an increase with my muffler. And on my other vehicle I put it on. And everyone else I know has seen an increase with an aftermarket muffler.

I agree. I don't think you'll notice a difference. Maybe a small increase but not worth a whole exhaust system. Especially if you want to keep it quiet. I would leave it stock.

Maybe someone should dyno their truck stock, and then replace the muffler and see if there is a difference.

Yup your right. A cold air intake and exhaust also made my truck slower. Roll Eyes
