a few inches!! LOL

mids and shorts will be good if your only mildly modding, if your trying to mod higher, the liong tubes will produce a better gain.

Horsepower TV recently did a comparison on a carberated 350 comparing shorties to the longtubes on an engine dyno, no HP was made OR lost, but torque was gained but they didn't say. Just a little FYI

On a stock motor there should be little differance. The more you mod the more you gain. If your stock, just chipped and intake I would figure that mids and shorties will be best. the longtubes will help once you go cammed and heads IMHO.

Okay, I've posted this for that relates to the HEMI TRUCK for a comparrison between LT and MID headers. Hemi_Loredo03 (reg cab) and me at the time QC had the exact same mods except I had LT headers and he had mids, we ran, I walked him and kept pulling, as before when we just had stock headers he would beat me, if thats not proof enough I dont know what is

that might not be the header size only, i know it's got to be a difference but this trucks are also slow learners, you install them today and only a couple of weeks latter you feel the real difference and that goes for pretty much every performance upgrade.
I changed the Superchips tuning to 91oct 3 weeks ago and the truck was running crappy for about 1200 miles, i was going to change it back to 87oct but i decided to give it another full tank, this week it's like a totally different truck, i feel like i can smoke anything on the road, (including the tires).
there is a highway stretch were i test my truck at full throttle, usually a 50 mph roll off from the entrance to an overpass, slightly uphill my best speed was 104 mph and i hitt 118 mph last Monday (with overdrive on)
There are a couple of factors that can affect the way this trucks ride, i notice if you reset the PCM often the thing never get to learn the parameters properly, it runs crappy and does poor gas mileage.
My Mustang racing friends say the long tubes are better for forced induction systems and high RPM they don't notice much difference in stock to slightly modified engines, that is why i got the Edelbrock TES

Long tubes are almost always your best bet for power.

If all you want is off idle torque and don't care about top end at all then stick with shorties or your stock exhaust manifold.

i'm running mids and i'm pretty happy with them they got good top end hp it pulls way hard on anything above 65-70 and a good friend of mine is running pacesetter lts and he's riden in my truck and he says it pulls almost as hard as his but he's got a RC Daytona so i'm sure his is better.........the myth i've heard is mids are good for top end hp and lt's are good for on the line torqure so if this is true or not i leave it to the pro's......Pros???

There's nothing wrong with mids at all.

I run LT's and my dad runs Thorley Tri-Y's.

I can speak for Thorley Tri-y's. Good low-mid gains. Way better than stock!
I hit 90-95mph every so often and don't have a problem getting there.

Mods...what mods??
