I have a 2007 Quad Ram,thinking of putting true dual exhaust on. I have dual exhaust now with pipes that split. I checked today with a muffler company and they say no way to do true dual. They say the check engine light will come on and stay on dued to pressure.Any one running true dual exhaust and not experiencing this problem. Are they telling the truth?

What a load of cow dung, go somewhere else!

I have an 07 QC also and until this past weekend I had chopped the piping from the cats back, individual pipes to a magnaflow x pipe to 2 Flowmasters out to 2 tails, better performance, awesome concert, no CEL.

And I say until this past weekend casue I removed the cats and all I can say to that is WOW!
She was asleep all this time, no CEL yet.

Regards

If you run true duals without mufflers but still have the cats the light will come on; it did on mine anyway.

Spainy, did you happen to get the code for that problem? It may have been unrelated, or at the very least may explain what about the exhaust modifying set it off. I'd like to know, as I plan on going to a true dual setup at some point.

Who starts all these rumors about either not being able to run duals or the truck will run like crap without back pressure? haha

As long as you don't touch the cats you shouldn't throw a code. That's weird if you do since mufflers should have no affect on the o2 sensors

I think it comes from people who get codes after modifying something, but never actually know what the code was from.

Messing with stuff quite often sets off codes simply because a sensor gets loosened or tweaked in such a way it doesn't get a proper reading. They're pretty sensitive at times. And sometimes its just coincidence when you modify something and you get a code from something else. I messed with my IAT sensor, and it set off the CEL even though it was still plugged in and snug the way it should have been. Expensive and sensitive crap!
