ok guys i dont know much about this stuff, but i went to the muffler shop near my house and i asked the guy if he can do a true dual exhaust om my 2003 and he said no. can someone tell me how it will be possible to do a true dual on my truck. i live in Texas so i know i wont pass inspection but thats the least of my worries. i need to know the pros and cons if i were to do a true dual exhaust and if its even possible.

Well one thing about the 03s is they use one 02 sensor to control the fuel trims. On the stock system it monitors both banks by reading the exhaust in the y-pipe before the cat. After the cat will alter the air fuel readings. I dont know if you can get away with just putting the 02 in one exhaust bank before the cats. Or you could extend the 02 sensor and put it in the x-pipe, if you choose to run one, and run no cats. In my opinion I would just buy some longtubes with 3 inch y-pipe and a 3 inch exhaust with a straight threw muffler and have the sensors like factory. Unless it is easier than what I am saying. I really dont know what Im saying is 100% true just what I have gathered by reading on here.

I have true duals on my 03 both o2 sensor are on one bank of the exhaust. I have had no problems with this. It not like the o2 sensor is adjusting each cylinder it adjusting the whole motor. If 1,3,5,7, are right so are 2,4,6,8.
