Ok the cats on my truck started to rattle, So last night I dropped the exhaust (off the long tube's) and broke out the ceramic junk inside of both of them. (It's a 03 came stock with 1 had 2 put on when the exhaust was added to the headers about 5 years ago) Well drove home from work last night and too and from work today and still no code or check eng light, Truck runs great and the idle now sounds like it should (6.1 cam and heads) with a cam in it. I ordered a EAS Enterprises Electronic Post Cat O2 SIMM from 3rd Strike and will let you know if I install it and what it does. But for now it smells like a real truck it runs like a real truck and idles like a real truck, Anyone else not running cat with no problems or is it that the 6.1 stuff just makes it run so clean you don't need cats?

you WILL get the code if you run the truck enough on the highway to set all the enabled criteria for the CAT monitor which only runs on the highway. Id say if you make a trip one day say around 50miles or so you will probably get the code. Just clear it out and you will be fine though. I have no problems but my rear 02s are disabled.

Some people get the code some don't. Sometimes I get the code sometimes I don't. Sometimes I can go about 30 miles before it comes back on, sometimes I can go about 3-4 days.

It's on p0420 cat con eff.

jsut throw some sims on it, you'll be fine!

i have no cats and i have the cel on all the time. i had to add a res befor my AT3030 because my truck rattled really bad and was gawdy loud. it sounds much better after the res install.

my point exactly, you WILL get it if you have no cats or gutted cats if you drive the truck enough to allow the pcm to run the readiness monitor for the cats.

It is installed, light went out and the truck feels a lot better, without it the truck would have times when it would lose power under WOT (post o2 taking out fuel) but know it just keeps on pulling. easy 3 wire hook up and if you have 2 post o2's it will run both. And to take the 02 sen out completly you just need a resistor. I would give it a thums up at this point.

3rd gear actually richens the mixture to protect the cats and pistons
