This is on summits site. I have a flowmaster 50hd bu the guy at the muffler shop did a crap job installing it and Im affraid they messed up the muffler doing the install. I would have another shop fix it but One estimate was almost as much as this kit.The FM50 HD sounds perfect to my taste not to loud and doesnt have any drown that I can tell since it has been burned in.

Cat back

It's totaly up to you bro, but I would stay away from off-brand mufflers. Maybe you could use your FM with the mandrel bent pipe. Unless they welded your FM too close the casing you should be able to cut it off and use it. I think you can find pipe kits with out mufflers, worth looking into. Good luck man.

I put a summitt turbo muffler on my old jeep cherokee about 5 years ago and it still sounds and looks new. A major company builds the mufflers for summitt and they have a high quality product as good or better than any brand i have ever used over the last 30 years. They are a high flow muffler. The sound is very deep and mellow. Louder than stock but not as loud as a straight through muffler. I don't know if this is the sound you are wanting but they sell a good product. The price is low but the quality is high.

Good info Guys. I may look into both. I will have to see if there is room to cut out the FM if not I may just do the summit deal.

I have it on mine and like it.....sometimes if your in city traffic driving slow it sounds kind of funny with the MDS....kick it out of overdrive and it's fine. Just takes a little more gas. Frowner

That may be very true, a lot of companies outsource products, buy in volume and sell at a discount. I believe Kenmore appliances were/are built by Whirlpool. If thats the case then, that's a great deal. Only problem is sometimes you just cant tell. If you call summit they might even tell you who builds their mufflers.

I think I would try to salvage the FM first, but like I said thats up to you bro.
