For all you straight pipes folks. Is this what yours sounds like? I'm not to crazy about it. Seems way to obnoxious. Just my opinion. Smiler

It is 300+ hp with no mufflers...of course it's obnoxious!!! I can only last about 2 days with my cut outs open. It's just too damn loud. I think it sounds killer though.

had it for some time and with the quarter wave tube it's not loud at all except wen you nail it, but it's not what i call a "healthy" sound.

I used to run a true dual set up with the cats still installed. Set off some car alarms and started to get the attention of the cops so I had it changed back in November. I ran the straights from Nov. '06 through Nov. '07. I never got pulled over but when you run neck and neck with an unmarked state boy, it can't be good (I lucked out that day). I did however get my best gas mileage running straights (17mpg, hey, it's a moose).

Wow,motorscooter, that sounds nice. Exactly what I want mine to sound like. I have FM 50 si/do with echo chambers. Sounds decent but want something different. How did you get the deep rumble? Didn't think that was possible with straght pipes. What size pipes? Wonder how it would sound dumped right behind rear axle. Sorry for all the questions. Your truck just sounds so damn nice.

jb04hemi. its a 3" borla cat back withoutthe muffler. just replace the muffler with a piece of 3" pipe.don't weld it,just use band clamps that way if you don't like it your only out 15.00 maybe.sitting still you can't get the real sound.

It's LOUD. I get sick of it after a few days. But it does sound good.

I've set of car alarms with my flowmasters and now with my duals all the time at idle. Mosty the warning chirps but every once in a while they will stay on. Pretty impressive.

I run a straight pipe on my sport... Because of the molding cut out on the passenger side I decided I would try just leaving the stock system in place and cutting out the old muffler and then straight piping it... I left the cat and the stock resonator in place... I actually really like the sound, and when I'm on the highway I think it's more quite then my old 03 red hemi (RIP) with dual flowmaster 40 series on...
