So if I gutted my cats wouldnt that throw a check engine light? Also when I had a cut out in bw my cats and muffler it was extermly loud sounded great but it seemed kinda sluggish. Will that same result happen if I gut them or put dummy cats on? I was thinkin of buying a set of dummy cats and putting flanges on each end swapping them when I have to go get an inspection. Any help with this I think the truck can sound even better with gutted cats and my AT3030 jw about that check engine light thing saw a couple posts sayin 02 sensors were throwing codes didnt know if that goes for what im doing too. my truck throws a code about the catalyst something. ill read it next time im in there. no cats and an AT3030 is loud really really loud. i could barely even hear my stereo. and it rattled when in mid rev bad, sounded awful, like something was loose. i had to add a res to get the rattling to stop. now it sounds great.

So if I gut my cats or put fake cats on im going to get a CEL eventually? How does putting a reson. solve this? And where are the reson.? I looked a hundred times under my truck and all I have is the headers coming back two cats y-piping into my at3030. So if I gut my cats where do the reson. go if I have to install those? Sorry for all the questions im completly lost.

just gut them and ive gut a corsa muffler that replaces the stock muffler and ill sell it to ya for a good price, its brand spanking new, it sounds really throaty but you can barely hear it in the cab

get they o2 sims. I got mine from 3rdstrike cheap and they solved my cel problems.

So I can gut my cats get the o2 sims from 3rdstrike and ill be good to go right? No codes or anything? What do the 02 sensors do anyways?

I like third strike but i came across mine at autozone on accident $3.00 you get 2 in a pack, first one stuff the hell out of it with steelwool.

then i drilled second to fit the o2 sensor, took 2 mm out of it no biggie.

Screw them togethrt tightly and stick in your pipe and let er smoke away, no cel codes anymore.

Right, gut your cats, get o2 simms, sometimes you have to stack two of them if you still get the code, or you can stick steel wool in the o2 sim to stop from getting the code.

Your truck should have 4 o2 sensors since you have an 04. The sensors in front of the cats monitor your air / fuel ratio and it lets the computer know whether to add fuel to take some out. The sensors behind the cats are to monitor the function of the cats, make sure they aren't going bad.
