Russia Seizes Arsenal Of US Weapons In Georgia - Military

MOSCOW (AFP)--Russian forces have seized a "large arsenal" of U.S.-made weapons in the western Georgian city of Senaki including hundreds of assault rifles, a military spokesman said Friday.

"In Senaki, we seized a large arsenal of weapons including 664 U.S.-made M-16 rifles" and a number of M-40 sniper rifles, General Anatoly Nogovitsyn told a news conference in Moscow. "There were 1,728 weapons total."

I think if you look back in Putin's family tree you will find that he had an "UNCLE JOE".

I believe what George Bush said was, "I looked into his eyes and see warmth and trust. I know that I can trust him now".

I have always felt that the Russian KGB was like a bear in hiding. Russians soldiers are mean, unscrupulous, uncaring, and arrogant. Their leader is a cancer looking for a place to grow. What they are doing in Georgia is just a beginning and I think we all know it. Bush sure fell flat on his ass on that warm and toasty feeling he had about Vladimar Putin when he was President of the Kremlin. There is major trouble ahead for us and here we are with the majority of our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. We don't have enough trained troops to even consider a clash with Russia and the European unions have their hands tied to Russia's oil and natural gas. They won't be doing anything offensive for fear of losing the oil and gas. Our politicians and our security people just have fallen flat on possible threats from other nations. Thank god we had some rational, common sense politicians during WWII.

Gee, it's called POLITICS. Do you really believe Bush thought Putin was his bestest buddy? Come ON!!! You can't just go up to the guy and call him a rat bastard but we all know it.

Does anyone really believe the Russian problem went away after the "cold war?"

Even if we had all of our troops out of engagements we still wouldn't do anything for fear that the liberals would stage anti war protests and Bush would be scared to have people say, "it's Bush's fault."

Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer!

I remember in 2002, when President Bush gave his "axis of evil" speech, and the media just criticized him up one side and down the other as being too "harsh". And now, his critics are "calling him out" for what he said about Putin.

Why can't the Bush Bashers be consistent?

You took the words out of my mouth on keeping enemies closer, LOL!

The reason they are not consistent is because they lie. They say whatever it takes at the moment.

They are liberals and have massive brain damage.

Tom, your description is basically on spot, except for the Bush Bash.
Just because he said he has a feeling about Putin, didn't make Russia do anything.
They did what they did without calling and saying "Hey George, Thanks for saying you were going to trust us. We just can't help ourselves so we're just going to invade this one little country".
It's NOT his fault. HE didn't have anything to do with it.
Why bash him?

HT just did.

Even if we had all of our troops out of engagements we still wouldn't do anything for fear that the liberals would stage anti war protests and Bush would be scared to have people say, "it's Bush's fault."

Bush runs this government, consequently, this nation and its inhabitants, which is us. I am not saying Bush allowed Russia to attack Georgia, but I am saying that our government, (Bush and Congress) are crippled and cannot see past the end of their noses, (billfolds). Russian politicians cannot be trusted, period. To make a public statement like Bush did, was not a smart move as it led people to believe that Putin was god's answer to peace between the U.S. and Russia.

"I looked the man in the eye. I found him to be very straight forward and trustworthy and we had a very good dialogue.

"I was able to get a sense of his soul.

"He's a man deeply committed to his country and the best interests of his country and I appreciate very much the frank dialogue and that's the beginning of a very constructive relationship," Mr Bush said.

Tom,

Your first sentence
quote:
Bush runs this government

******************************************
Your second sentence.
but I am saying that our government, (Bush and Congress) are crippled.
************************************************
If you relate you first sentence to your second one would think, what does Bush need the congress for if he runs the Nation.

Don't you think that the Democratic controlled Congress that is dead set against the president is doing the crippling?

To make a public statement like Bush did, was not a smart move as it led people to believe that Putin was god's answer to peace between the U.S. and Russia.

Tom,
I know that you didn't believe it. Why would you think that most level headed Americans who have lived through the modern history of Russia and Communisim would trust Russian politics for a minute?

I am surprised that no one has come up with the "Cheney" is really running the country thing in this thread yet.

Well, at the very least the members that are participating here are concerned for our country.
There are so many walking around today enjoying the freedoms of living in the greatest nation in the world and have no idea what it takes for them to enjoy it.

Enough is a flippin enough! Someone has to call it what it is and today I guess that's me.

Tom, you and Sils have a history of being against the war. Fine, that's great. No problem with that/ I hate war, been in 3 of them and they all 3 sucked but I understood it had to be done.

Now you are suggesting that we should have gone to war with Russia because the threat of sanctions didn't work. Please for the love of God, tell me that this Russia issue is all new to you and you had no knowledge of what Russia has been doing for the last 6 months such as flying their bombers in to our air space as well as Georgia's. Please tell me you had no knowledge of comments from OUR administration for the last 6 months telling Russia to back off. Please tell me you had no idea that Russia is pissed off because of the Poland/US Missile Defense agreement and threaten to take action if the agreement was signed even though the US threatened sanctions if they did. Please tell me you didn't realize that Russia blew off our sanction threats making the only course of action to be US agression if Russia did invade. Please tell me you are not the same people that I have read saying the US has no right to impose their will on other countries. Ala a democracy in Georgia??

Please tell me you are not as big a hypocrites as I think you are right now. Please admit to me that this is just another BS attack on POTUS or please admit that you just didn't know all the facts. Please, give me something I can respect you for.
