Hind sight is always 20-20. Can we say this will never happen again? I do not think so. It is, however, the FIRST time this has happened on one of our Posts. No one could have predicted that this would happened. I'm sure new policies and procedures will be implemented to significantly reduce an event like this from happening again.

I also don't think we can implement procedures that will limit the Muslim community from joining our military ranks. There are over 4 million Muslims in the U.S. and they are very much a peaceful community and abhor the latest event.

Wasn't it a Catholic that killed the folks in Binghamton? Do we prohibit all Catholics from joining our military because they are militants?

Profiling works, not perfectly but it WORKS. If this loser had not been treated with PC 'love gloves' just maybe we could have avoided the 2nd worst terrorist attack on American soil since 9/11. This PC bullshit must end -all the signs were very evident that this lunatic was off balance- it was calculated and done in praise of a radical agenda. I remember Kruschev saying long ago that America would fall from within; it looks like our candy-ass PC softness may just be the ticket for his prediction to come true. HemiFun05

Mark I absolutely understand what you are saying and you do have a great point but I 100% agree with HemiFun. I can guarantee you that had all that muslim sensitivity training not taken place, this nut job would not have gotten as far as he did.

Bottom line the man is a coward. How in the world did he dodge deployments since 9/11? There is a lot more to this story than we know yet. Did the Army screw up? Who knows? Time will tell. Did the gate guards that let him on post with weapons screw up? No. I drive on bases or posts almost every day and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that if I wanted to bring a weapon on, I could. They don't 100% search every vehicle and especially don't if its a person that is stationed at that location.

I am all about profiling. Yes it sucks and yes there are 4M muslims in this country and not all want to do us harm but the fact remains we are not at war with catholics.

Last time I cleaned the shitters I used a brush and sponge, not an M-16. Unless it has some really bad mineral buildup.

I doubt people would be calling for profiling if this was a white American.

We should be profiling every race, using this rationale. I can't believe people would call for persecuting Americans because they are of a specific race. Who's next? Catholics, Jews, Cubans, Mexicans?

The point is being severely missed here; it is the irrational BEHAVIOR that is suspect coupled with specific historical tendencies. Most sane Americans could give a shit less what your ethnicity, sexual preference, or religion happens to be UNLESS you send up repeated red flags that warrant further investigation...and in today's total bullshit PC world where everyone is worried about being sued or hurting someone's 'feelings' it is painfully easy to see the results of this insanity.

If he was a white guy, would you have called it a terrorist attack? Were Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols terrorists or are they excused because they weren't Muslims?
