so what are you views on NASA....how many here think its worth every penny that we explore the galaxy and such....i for one would put ever available penny into space exploration....there is so much that we dont' know and need to understand....the fate of our world could depend, and in my opinion will, on the resources we can find in space....thoughts?

I totally agree! I would rather see our money spent on the space program than some of the give-away programs like ACORN that the government has chosen. Mad

Maybe some of us conservatives could go to another planet and start over without the socialist the want to run the world.

Yes the space program is an expensive venture BUT over the years it has probably had the best return on the dollar invested when you consider the medical and technological advances that have come from it. It gives far better returns than any of the social experiments that we have tried.

I disagree! ( How unlike me). Big Grin
I think the funds could be better spent at home.
Infrastructure, real health care, and many other things that would benefit the American public.

Michael Medved had a Nasa scientist on one time and asked him if they had any proof yet of anything extraterrestrial. He said no. So here, we're spending zillions of dollars on what? Just to listen to noises in space? And the same people that believe protecting this country is a waste of money, or spending money on a "never ending" drug war where you do have results will not bat an eye when it comes to blowing zillions on Nasa when they haven't found a freakin thing. Not one.

Beam me up Scottie, No intelligence down here.

Why, we can't even solve our problems here on this planet. Spreading our shit all over the galaxy just means a bigger mess.

Let's eliminate all taxes associated with any facet of space exploration, turn it over to free enterprise, capitalism and privatize it allowing those with the monetary means to accomplish the task without a drain on the US public. Then if there are any benefits from space exploration they can be marketed back to the consuming public for a profit. This scenario would keep you from being taxed for something you don't believe in but allow you to buy any benefits associated with the mission. Certainly not perfect but freedom and free enterprise does work - get the government out of the way.

I fully and totally agree. The money we are now spending on space is a waste. We need far to much right here on this planet where we live.
