the Punch 100 is a high quality amp but is only 160 watts X 1 bridged, good for a pair of high quality coaxial speakers (2 X 50 @ 4 ohm) but it might be too short for today's subs

thanks for the reply, what do you suggest for a decent amp reasonably priced? what size would you recommend? i realise the size depends alot on the sub and i guess i really don't know what i need for that either. i'm not looking to rattle everyones mirrors at a stoplight, just looking to add some bump to my otherwise stock system.

would a 200 or 300 watt sub with compatable amp do the trick? too big? too small? i guess i really don't know what i am looking for LOL

thanks

Right now I have a Sony 50x2 amp with a single 10" sub in a sealed box. It sounds great to me. Like you said it won't rattle the windows of the other cars around but sounds good in the truck. Cheap set up and it all came from Wal-Mart.

the thing is our trucks don't have a lot of space to spare for a decent size enclosure so we have to look for Subwoofers that play good on small ones do a little research online and you will see that car audio can be a lot of fun you also learn a lot and you can call it "Art" if you do it yourself, and if you don't like the results you can always change it, it's your truck after all
