Anyone recommend any brands over others? I just want to do this in my Civic for road noise, but I don't want to spend a ton of money. Only probably need a 50sq ft. roll. I was going to do the trunk, under the carpet in the cab, all doors, and possibly roof if I have enough left. Dynamat is ridiculous expensive, and I have found some other brands for less, but don't know if 50mil is good enough, or if it is worth going to 80mil. I don't have a system, nor am I getting one in this car, so I would imagine the 50mil would be very noticeable. dunno

Yeah, the Fat Mat was in the top of my list of options. The Dyna Mat is just too freakin expensive. Even on ebay. It is 2x the price and higher of others. If this was a show car, maybe I would go the extra mile, but it is just for the simplest use so cheaper is better. I will have to check out the second skin.

I will have to put that on my list too. I wonder how well that ensolite stuff works? It is cheaper still and looks reasonably easy to install. But I wonder how it compares to the sound mat.... dunno

Probably won't do you guys much good since it is in a Civic. Won't be much help on removing your interior...lol. I am sure the application process is simple. You just peel and roll everything.

the Ensolite works great in conjunction with the mat.The mat cancels the sound waves transfered by the sheet metal and the Ensolite keeps the sound from the inside the reach the metal the Raammat is very sticky and will not fall off with the heat like others. it works good for me and i only done 75% of the truck,i didn't order enough and then i never got back to it.

Ok,... I bought 40sq foot of second skin the other day, and I was wondering what ares I should apply it for the best results... I get ALOT!!! Mad of road noise and engine drone up front (near the firewall) so I guess what im asking is should I do the doors, or just concentrate on the floor board and firewall.

are you gonna do the doors, or just the floorboards. I don't know if 40sq foot would cover that much if I was gonna do the cab and the doors?

Going to rip out everything from the back seat and do the doors, floor, and the rear between the bed and cab. In the front I'm going to do the area around the front 6x9's and that's it. I'm more concerned with vibration from the sub and the road noise from my exhaust and rear drive train. I want to keep the front doors a little exposed incase its raining or cold out and playing the music and need to hear sirens for the emergency cars.
