I recently bought a 6" PHAT antenna. Around $30. I had the same one in 9" with no issues on my 03, but this one doesn't seem to get as good reception. Granted it wasn't the best weather today, but it seemed quite a bit different. I really want to keep this antenna, but is there any way I can boost the reception? I was thinking of just adding a small wire to the bottom of the antenna maybe and running it along the firewall or something. I used a small speaker wire to get reception in my garage on my garage stereo, so I wondered if this would help.

There are powered antenna booster pre-amplifiers that connect between the radio and the antenna coax, but I don't know how well they work. dunno
