well im in the process of building a buddy of mine a sub box for a cvr122 kicker sub,its about 3 ft3 and in trying to determine wat to tune it to....i figured 32 hz...but not quite sure, he listens to alot of rap/hiphop so heavy steady low bass. any suggestions?

for low bass 32Hz is fine just give it planty of port area, 3cf for a single 12" is pretty big

yeah iv ressearch and fould the ideal ported size is about 2.25...so thats wat im gonna go with....2.25 cu/ft; 2" x 10" port opening 18.5" port depth...how bout that sppb?

sounds good, but you can't really tell without testing, that's the problem with the ported boxes, similar subs might react completely different to enclosure volume, port size and frequency, but it's allot of fun.

Tune that things up some bro, that freq is way too low and the woofer will have some issues on subsonic bass and you cant control the cone enough down there, Tune it to about 42-45 htz, trust me Ive done that on a larger box a long time ago and had major issues with subs, blowing them left and right, changed the port and solved the problem,


2009 QC 1500, HEMI, 390 HORSEPOWER, 407 FT LBS, SLT, DEEPWATER BLUE, 20" MB GUNNER 5 CHROME WHEELS. WRAPPED WITH YOKOHAMA RUBBERS. MAGNAFLOW 3"/3" MUFFLER, SINGLE STRAIGHT OUT EXIT WITH SS TIP.

did his car the weekend....sold him my pioneer deck...got him a deal on set of 6.5 kappas and sold him my old 400 watt amp ....he bought a new 600 watt amp fer the sub...made the box 2.25 ft3 and tuned it to 42.....i was shocked it pounded so badass ...and the kappas amplified made it even better..so damn clear and crisp....im now jealous of my own creation haha...
