Not happy. I bought my wife a 04 yukon denali with the 6.0. truck is stock. I had my friend drive it and I had him off the line then the hemi ram out of power and he passed me. Then he shut down at 109 mph and I passed him again. I just dont understand it. I knew the truck felt quick but not that quick.Anyone want a superchip 3865. I might go back to hypertech

What gears do you have in your rear end?

Those 6.0s are pretty quick. You should be able to stomp that thing though

2004 denali 6.0L:
CURB WEIGHT 5,269lbs
325HP 5,200rpm
365flb at 4,000rpm
3.73:1 axle ratio
Rear differential lock
16 highway and 12 city

It should of been a close race. Chevy does not have as high of a power train loss as our rams.. so power to the ground is pretty much the same. The rest is all about weight, and gearing.

5.3L Yukon is a lot different from 6.0L Yukon. Might be time for headers and maybe a cam.

I wish I could agree with that, but I took a brand new Caddy Escalade with the 402hp motor in my 03 when I had it. I had an intake, exhaust and TCM mod and that was it. We ran all the way up to around 100 and I had him at the back of my rear door. So i am a little shocked that one would walk you that much. Now a 5.3l is not even in the same ballpark. dunno Oh, and it was the same setup I have now....4x4 QC.

And by these numbers a 2wd Hemi shouldn't have a problem, especially modded. 20 more hp and tq with a 3.92 over a 3.73? 2wd QC should weigh about the same.

I test drove a 400 hp 6 speed Caddy CTSV a few years ago. My moms stock durango would smoke that thing. I wasn't impressed

that's not really that big of a win in my book... who ever jumped 1st could of won. And the newer Caddies are even heavier than previous models... BUT, they do have a pretty nice 6speed auto. Your mods got your close to equal HP, his weight was his handicap, but his gearing help offset it... equals a really close race.

that caddy weighed at least a 1000 lbs less (lighter even than the LXs), with a 50hp advantage.... that's just not mathematically possible.... dunno

Just a seat of the pants comparison. My truck would have stomped a hole in that Caddy.

Me and my friend both test drove it at the "autoshow in motion" thing. You get to test drive all the new Gm vehicles. The caddy test drive starts off on a long straight away. Neither one of us were impressed in the least.

Maybe they detune them for the test drive. But that would defeat the whole purpose of test driving them.

I just looked up the specs 0-60 in 4.6...MY ASS

curb weight 3850 lbs on the caddy 5k on the durango. Do Durangos really weigh that much?

What happened to the CTS Vs? Did they not sell very many. The one I test drove is the ONLY ony I have ever seen. Never seen one on the street

ohh yeah... they sell em' still! And she is a pure beast now! Fasted 4 door car around nuremberg, EVER... period... in less than 8 minutes... exact same times as a 2006 Z06 vette.
http://www.motortrend.com/road...lac_cts_v/index.html

and yes, Durango's are that fat... as heavy as a QC truck. The Caddy you drove may have been turned down (i doubt it tho), most likely it just didnt "feel" that fast, because it's plush, quite, and detached from the raw feeling sports cars. Same feeling as doing 160 in a ferrari, it's "no big deal"... because it does it soooo effortlessly.

Our Mag RT doesnt "feel" faster than my truck, from day to day driving.. but it is. It just does it in a more refined way.
