Ok, I live in a small college town and there are at least 3 lightnings here in town. 2 or 3 red ones and a black one.

So I'm coming home from work on I35, 2 AM, not much traffic, and who happened to be cruising in the slow lane going about ten under the speed limit? A red lightning!!!!

So I slowed down to about 60 and cruised next to him for about a mile but he wouldn't go So I floored it and took off to show I meant business. A few miles later I'm coming up on my exit and I get stuck behind a semi doing 45 on the damn highway and right before I exit the Lightning got next to me, floored it and took off. I quickly switched lanes and caught him and we both slowed down to about 70 and I got beside him, before I even had time to think he floored it again, but by the time I dropped from from 5th to 3rd to 2nd (My Diablo usually downshifts straight to second but it hasn't been doing it lately, that was my favorite feature about Diablo) he was about a truck length or 1.5 lengths ahead of me before I even started accelerating. I switched lanes and got behind him because of a car in my lane, I caught him at about 90, he scooted over, I passed him at 95-100 and pulled maybe 4 lengths on him by the time I hit my limiter at 115. I waited for him to catch up for round 2 but he just rode next to me and wouldn't get on it again, So I exited and turned around and headed back home.

I am very disapointed, Either that lightning has not been well taken care of or the guy let off at about 90 but he never hit the brakes.

My trucks not even that fast (14.5 1/4 mile 4.9 best 0-60) but I'm still undefeated on the street

STOCK lightnings are not that big of a deal, fast yes, but not impossible.

lightning Specs (in STOCK form)
360 horsepower
440 ft-lbs.
0-60 mph in 5.8
1/4 in 13.9 @ 100 mph

That is basically RC/SB Hemi with bolt-ons territory.

Ok, I did some looking around and found that lightnings run somewhere between 13.9-14.3 stock. Not bad but not that much better than me.

Hopefully I'll get another shot at this dude, he only lives about 3 exits down from me

And those are the fast ones. The slower ones are anywhere from low to mid 14's like posted before. I can't imagine that is much faster than a RC 2wd with just some minor mods. But remember.....NO SUPERCHARGER!!!!!!

Pretty impressive numbers!

Yesterday on the speed channel there was a lightning on that show "Pass Time" The guy said it was 100% stock. I think it was an 01 or an 02. It ran like a 14.38

And I've got a RCLB with few mods and my best is 14.52@92.5 and my best 0-60 is 4.9 So I guess I'm not too far off.

I guess it wouldn't be hard to believe that I could take a worn out Lightning by 4 truck lengths at 115mph. I want a round two!!!
