I have the offer to buy a used set of 5.7 heads that had a valve drop and bend the valve. The cost is $150. Would this be worth buying so I can port and build a set of heads for a cam/heads build up or should I go with a cleaned up set I found for $450? I can't afford the ported or 6.1 heads at 1,400, way to much for me. All I would need is a new valve and new springs for the cam, and to clean them up, right?? or is there more to do?

Thanks

As long as the valve did not damage anything, (seat/guide) u should be good. Might want to freshen up the valve job, new seals, and mill some off, to raise the compression. professor

uuuuhhhh....yeah, what he said. I would say for $150, you can't go wrong as long as they are otherwise healthy. Put a higher performance set of springs on them anyways, have them ported/polished and cleaned up. Would be a nice jump in hp/tq.

I was talking about the pic I saw and posted about in your public announcement forum. That was weird. This is where I first saw it. And then when I went to your other forum, it was under MrH's sig too. Either you guys are screwing with me, or someone was screwing with you...... dunno
