I have intake, superchips and exaust on the truck now, all for about $1300 give or take. Each one made huge changes. Looking for the next project/upgrade on my 5.7L. Not just for myself but for everyone else. Please list cheap $ (not in quality of course) projects that will make notable changes in performance. Cheap is relative, so maybe things under $1000.


Blue '03 1500 Ram QC
K&N intake
Super Chips Programmer
4 KC Hiliters on a Smitty Built Bumper
Roll and Lock tonneau.
SilverStar Ultra's.
Dual Exaust.
What should I do next?
Best 1/4 mile run before exaust, no tow/haul and revs at stock: 16.238sec @ 83.52mph

gears or headers is next logically... but after that, a cam with supporting mods (6.1 springs and install kit) can be had for around $1000 or less... if you can do the install yourself.

Also Nitrous can be had for less than $1000 but then you have to consider all the fill ups. Smiler

I live in Alaska and the truck already is pretty darn cold in the height of winter. Especially below the 40 below F mark. Are thermostats easily changed?
