so i got a spare Hemi engine, i was told it's off a 05 Durango with 25K miles. I disassemble the engine to inspect and it's in dead very clean so I'm assuming the mileage is pretty accurate but when i looked at the lifters they have MDS stamped on them, doesn't the MDS came on the Durangos after 06 only like the Ram? I'm confused

05 Durangos did have MDS!!

 05 Rango's, Chargers, Magnums, and 300C's all had MDS starting in 05. The Ram did not get it until 06. i went to DTW to the Durango forum and did some research and they state the Durango only got the MDS after 06, post #3

I had always heard MDS started in the Durango in 06 the same as the Ram. I went to Dodge.com and looked in the online owner's manuals and they don't show MDS for 05 in the Durango.

Possibly a late 05 build?? Reguardless pull hem out and put the regular lifters in!
