Hey Guys... I know it has been awhile since I have last logged on, but I'm in need of some serious help. Has anyone ever had trouble with their ETC? I can't go down the road and back without the ETC light flashing at me and the check engine light screaming at me. When that happens, my truck wants to stall and have all kinds of engine issues. It acts like it can't even move. It'll have a high rev sound, but barely move. I fixed this issue about 9 months ago by cleaning the sensor under the hood. Now it's a pain that won't go away. Can anyone give some info on this... Fixes, stuff to try, where to take the truck, or anything. LOL! I gotta get this issue away from me.

THANKS!

-Dustin

How many miles are on your truck? Are there any trouble codes? Maybe you need to clean the throttle body.

It's about 58000 miles on it. I believe I'm gonna buy some more cleaner and try that again, but IDK if that's gonna work this time or not. I'm sending it to get all the P codes now. It'll probably come back as an air flow issue like before. I should have the P codes within the next 30 min. or so.

It's the same code as before... P2175... Low Air Flow. My guess is that the first sensor past the air filter is bad... But I'm not sure. I'm hoping for a miracle to come my way. LOL! I may just have to take it to a shop, but I'm trying to dodge that. I'm still open for ideas! LOL! And thanks for the help guys! I really do appreciate it!

yep, i'd say either your map sensor or throttle body is bitched. a dirty air filter or iat sensor won't pop that code.

Thanks for all the help! When I made my first post, I was in the process of getting the codes and ordering the sensor. I had cleaned the original sensor and used the cleaner to clean the intake out. I changed the sensor out when it got to me and that didn't solve a thing. I called the dealership and they said I HAD to change my throttle body and it would cost me $200 just for the parts. They said I couldn't fix it. WELL... I ended up taking one of my off days and using it to work on my truck. I got into the body itself and found an oily build up all on the inside walls. It was just a mess. I cleaned it up and polished it out. Ever since I took the time to make sure it was properly cleaned... I haven't had a problem since. Again... Thanks for the help! I appreciate it all!

What was the truck actually running like? Did it have any hesitation under slight throttle at lower RPM's then come out of it when you gave it more throttle? I have some very slight roughness I am getting and need to figure it out. I think I am going to get the super chips tuner for it because that reads codes as well plus I can adjust for mods. Was it a pain to clean the Throttle Body? Don't ya hate how these trucks shift? I know that one day I am going to get a Sharadon valve body for it.

If you are going to get a Superchips Flashpaq get the model 3865. It is going to have transmission tuning capability when the beta testing is complete. It will be able to remove all of the torque management or just however much you want to remove. Also it will set the shift schedule for both part and full throttle. I've been told it makes a world of difference on the shifts.

On the main page for the Hemi Truck Club is a link to a write-up on cleaning the throttle body.
