i had noticed about a month ago that when i start my truck for the first time in the morning it idles lower at startup. as soon as it turns on it goes to about 1500 then all the way down to 450-500 then to 650-700 like regular idle. but this morning it went all the way down to 250. but as soon as it can get it back up its fine the rest of the day. whats the deal with it? thanks

I had an 02 V6 Ram that kind of did that right about the time I gave it to my brother. It stalled at stop lights regularly and he finally took it to the dealership. They cleaned out the throttle body and replaced a sensor and it ran great after that. I don't remember what sensor it is but it worked on his truck.

well my truck hadnt done it in a while but this morning it was a bit cooler and it dipped all the way down to 200 rpm twice when i started it. but as soon as i got it going it was fine. could it be throttle position sensor?

My Dakota had a similar problem, dealer said it was the camshaft sensor.
