Compare it on the track, not a dyno. Cant win races on a dyno.

too bad at all?? that is compared to a crappy hypertech. There is a guy on Dodgetalk that did a couple of track runs with DSP and Superchips. The diablo ran a 9.2x and the superchips ran an 8.7x????? Whats going on diablo. Ill take SC or SCT any day.

THIS is the difference between driveability, and peak power numbers. Just because you tune an engine doesn't mean you will GAIN power, but if there is room for improvement, it DOES mean there will be a gain in driveability, and that is what you are experiencing.

Not to say that a custom tune to YOUR truck won't increase peak power as well. And if you didn't run them back to back, there's plenty of other factors such as conditions. But even if you did run back to back, there's the idea that the ECM has to run that tune a bit to learn and adapt.

Go back and compare the graphs side by side, and look at the power curves, and how they compare at different RPM intervals.

BTW, reminds me of a story of a guys bike we tuned at a bike shop. Costs about $200 for a full tune on the bike, and he was pissed off when he saw that he had lost 1 hp AFTER the tune. Tried explaining "driveability" to him, and he apparently was just to upset to want to understand, so we told him to just go ride it, and if he wasn't satisfied, we'd give him his money back.

Called us minutes later, before he even got home to thank us for the "new motor" we put in his bike, it felt that much different/better.

would like to see the A/F ratios on both runs as well... i bet the diablo tune is a bit more "safe" than a "maxed out" hypertech tune. hypertech and superchips dump crazy amounts of timing into these tunes, to squeeze out every last hp... this does two things.. actually three... 1) raises your EGT's (not good), 2) increases your KR (not good either), 3) gives you a couple or three extra ponies (good for the guy that only wants the "numbers" on a sheet). If you are wanting LONG TERM SAFE TUNING, you absolutely need to get a custom tune... WE (even I) are accustom to superchips/hypertech tuning methods, and how they "feel"... WE (even I) are creatures of habit... that said, ANYTHING that does not feel or "dyno" BETTER than superchips/hypertech will instantly be disappointed... WE (even I) are JUST starting to realize the benefits of Diablo, and the ability to safely TUNE our engines... we have always just believed that the numbers that we have seen with superchips/hypertech was the "best" form of hp gains, and had no other tool to compare it too.... take some time, do some data logging... see what your KR is with Diablo, see what your EGTs are with diablo... then do the same thing with hypertech or superchips... if you have an A/F guage, monitor that as well.. .you may be surprised what you find..

Fine print on the 2 runs, 10 degrees difference in air temp, and the humidity is 16% in one and 61% in the other?

Theres the loss right there!
