Yep, ladies, we can wash clothes at home again! Three weeks ago, my washing machine decided not to spin anymore. So, I lug wet clothes to the laundrymat to finish them. UUGGGGHHH! So, I've been lugging the dirty clothes every weekend since. Well, after putting off the laundry until today since I have the day off today, I got to thinking (yes, Jay, I do have a brain that works sometimes!)...washer will fill with water, agitate, just not spin the water out. OK...LIGHT BULB FINALLY GOES ON! You have to close the lid in order for the machine to spin. There is a little switch right there that the pin on the lid pushes when it shuts. Its easy to get to, and so I take the switch out, open it up...and the points fall out in my hand! I cut the wires, strip them, twist them together and put lots of electrical tape around them, plug the machine back in and VOILA! IT SPINS!!!

Now I'm doing laundry and kicking myself for not thinking about that three weeks ago!

OH Sister!!! We are so capable of doing so much more than we give ourselves credit for. There "pretty" much isnt anything in my home I cant fix. I have re roofed my home, replaced my water heater and not to mention I do all my own maint. and mods on my baby boy. I can even do these things while I bake cookies, grill and make the up coming weekly dinners. Did I forget to mention the fact that I can even clean up well when deemed necessary..
{{{ smiles }}}

See as women we multi-task much better than men. So when I don't feel like or dont have the time then I ask one of my brothers for help. I am empowered by the fact that I can do all those things and I am very good at it. I always encourage woman to fix, maintain their trucks/cars, homes and anything else that comes their way. Its also a great way to save $$. I must have saved myself thousands of dollars besides that then you know and you don't have to wait on someone else to get something done or have to kiss some a$$ to get what you want. Good rule of thumb: if its already broke you cant do any worse. WARNING: It will put a chip on your shoulders that is attached to an attitude (then the light comes on when you see the guys trying to fix something so simple and it becomes a long drawn out huge expensive project.... if they would have only listen...

Think about it.. what do guys do when they have no idea how to fix something: they wing it!! we are no different

Great job, Angela. Our washer broke on New Year's day. I did the woman thing and went right out and bought a new one. Didn't even look into having it fixed. superscared I enjoyed buying the washer so much I went ahead and bought the matching dryer, too. Good thing because when I got home the dryer and gone out also. Smiler
