ALright so I dont know if this is a good time for my truck or not but I ran a 14.8. Its a 04 quad cab 2x4 and all it has is intake, cat back exhaust ( super 44 ) and a 125 shot of nitrous. thats it. I was glad it hit 14's but I was hoping it would be a little faster. So I was wondering what everybody thought about the time and if thats what it should be or not.

That seems slow. What gears do you have? How about any track prep like, removing spare tire, tailgate, lowering air pressure?
My truck 2x4 QC had the stock exhaust(no muffler, just res.)E-fan,CAI, SC and power wire. Also did not have a spare or tailgate and ran 14.5 a couple of times.
I would think with the 125 shot you would have done better.

Do some weight reduction on that heavy truck, you'll see your times drop!

When do you hit the nitrous, and are you spraying right till the end of the quarter or do you let off for shifts? I dropped my time half a second just by changing how I was using the bottle, most of the time came off in the first 60ft.

It has the 3.92 gears. As far as how much it weighs i dont know I need to go weigh it and see. And no I didnt do any prep I still had my spare tire, tailgate, bedcover, i didnt lower the tire pressure either. i also have subs and amps and all that stuff to. and as for the spray i use it right after the take off and all the way down the track i dont let off for shifts or nothing. and no I dont have a programmer but I get paid today so I am going to call Duane over at 3rd strike and order the diablo i think. i also have an e-fan sitting here in my room i bought but just havent got around to putting it on yet

a few weeks ago i would have said that was slow.but my experience with my own truck tells me it might be pretty gooddepending on several factors.what was the temperature?what hp shot is your n20?and how ?when you are spraying.i ran a best of 15.1 last fall in 58-60 degree weather with a single flowmaster 50 series,sc tuner, and cai.then 2 weeks ago i returned to the track after adding pacsetter mids,a custom ypipe with stock cats, and true duals through 2 40 series flowmasters.i ran a very dissapointing 15.5 best, with 2 15.8 s the temp was 80 degrees.im hoping its the weather and not a case of too much back pressure lost.i guess ill have to wait til 60 degree weather again to find out.i went back this weekend with my newly installed zex system with the 75 hp jets installed and 87 tune on my sc tuner.i ran a baseline with no n20 at 15.9 the spray got me 15.2 twice.i hit it at 3000 rpm in 1st gear.im sure its hot there in az this time of year,so maybe your times will improve in winter as i hope mine will. nos

I wish these damn things would not slow down so much when it warms up. It must pull a lot more timing than it needs to when the IAT goes up. Maybe adding some resistance to that line (Power wire) would help. I may try that and then I will datalog and see if I get knock retard in the hot weather. I may need to pull timing with the Diablo if I artificially lower the IAT's, but maybe I can make it more consistent.

I just don't have the time to screw around with this thing.

I have not actually raced it on a hot day, but I can feel a major difference in performance on the street. It is hard to feel a couple tenths, so I think it would be a half a second slower on a 90 degree day vs a 60 degree day the way it feels. The weather is getting warm here now so I will probably not pick up very much going to the little back tires because it was under 70 degrees when I ran my 14.99. It will be over 80 the next time I make it out. I am hoping that high humidity slowed the truck last time out, but I ran my buddy with the Chevy and his ET was IDENTICLE to the day I ran him when I got my 14.99. I slowed 0.3 vs the better day and his truck only slowed 0.005! It had to be my worst run of the day and his best (he broke the rearend on his next pass!) and he beat me by .020! I spun though on that run and ended up shaving a tenth off later, so for the night I was quicker and he left on the trailer. However, to be fair he must have a thousand passes on that truck.

I just checked those slips. His mph did go down about 0.5mph and mine went down 0.085 on the humid day. His ET stayed the same because somehow his 60ft was 0.25 quicker on the humid day. I could see that I was pulling him down the track and I crossed first since I red lit. However, when I checked the slip he ran a 15.294 @ 87.71 and I ran 15.315 @ 88.59mph. I had a bad 2.303 60ft on that run. It was only 60 degrees that day but we were hot lapping it since the threat of rain kept a lot of people away. After a little rain delay which let the truck sit for 1 hour, I ran 15.197 @ 88.03mph with a 2.237 60ft. The conditions were getting worse because I saw others slow down but I sped up. This truck loves to run cold.

Anyone know what the humidity does to ET? It was 61 degrees that day with a 73% relative humidity and the barometer read 29.42.

When I ran the 14.99 it was 67 degrees, the relative humidity was 64%, and the barometer reading was 29.68.

thats when i got my best time it was 58-60 degrees and i had let the truck sit an hour to cool off.im sure the humidity n temp is hurting me,im just not sure how much.my last 60 ft times suck 2.4's.what really bugs me is there was a titan at the track running 14.9,the heat wasnt effecting him evedently.
