Yes, stock. It's an '09 rcsb 2wd hemi with 3.92's. It has actually gone a 14.007, but the dummy running the tower didn't put my truck number on the timeslip, so I'll just claim the 14.13 I have video of.

I know it's almost impossible to believe. The thing is, it's an '09. It is STOCK. They don't even have programmers out for the 09's yet. Remember, regular cab shortbed 2wd with 3.92's. It weighs 4,620 lbs with no cargo, no driver, and 1/4 tank of fuel. I think that's about 200 lbs lighter than an equivalent 3rd gen truck. Mine is an SLT with no options beyond hemi, 3.92's, remote start, and tow hooks. It does not have a power seat, trailer hitch, or anything else not included either with the options listed above or the SLT package itself.

Lemme elaborate a bit: Stock 265/whatever/17 tires, stock single exhaust, stock every damn thing. It has a cold air intake-the factory setup. It draws from the passenger side fender. Removing the air filter slowed the truck down. (!) I have no idea why that happened, but it lost about 1 mph through the lights. Putting the filter back in brought it back up to normal. I have posted some pretty detailed info on other forums on how I drove the truck to get the best performance it can deliver. The 09's have a few differences, notably that 2nd prime is now available while upshifting if you are shifting manually.

I don't know what a rcsb tundra properly driven will run, but I think it's about where I am. I realize what I'm claiming is hard to believe. I can only say this-remember this conversation in a few weeks or months when other people start running these things in larger quantities, and it'll seem more believable. What's a good 60 foot time on stock street tires with a 3rd gen and no suspension modifications? My best so far in this truck has been a 2.10-something, and that was the 14.007 run. A more typical short time for me has been 2.15-2.20.

oh,i believe you,i mean its a lighter truck than the previous model and has 45 xtra horses and a lot better suspension.i wish i had waited now,i bought my 08 a month before the 09s were coming out.but i knew they wouldnt be as cheap as the 08s and i decided i could do a lot of mods to my 08 for the price difference.they still are not as cheap as the 08 was but they have come down a lot.it may be a year ot two before the aftermarket has many parts for it,but hey, its only a couple hundred bucks to have those big ass mufflers replaced with flowmasters or xls.

I've thought about muffler replacement, and I've decided that dodge probably knew what they were doing when they designed that muffler. To both flow well and be deadly quiet, they probably HAD to make it huge. Generally speaking, from what I've seen you can have any 2 of these 3 things in a muffler: Small, quiet, good flowing. To make 390 hp, dodge obviously decided to sacrifice small to keep quiet and good flowing. Not a bad tradeoff. I'd be interested to see how much the stock muffler flows under controlled conditions compared to various aftermarket mufflers. I'm guessing it might stack up better than a lot of people would suspect.

the factory ,muffler is for quiet,if you dont want to hear your truck leave it alone, but if you want more hp,then take that big sob off and the resonator too.

Well, normally I'd be like most people and just assume that the stock muffler is junk simply because it's stock. Like I said though, it's obviously not too restrictive or it wouldn't flow enough to make the power these trucks do. I'm almost tempted to drill a small hole in the pipe near the muffler and put a barbed fitting in there so I can actually measure backpressure with a gauge.

Sometimes stock parts are pretty good, and without actual objective testing of some sort it can be hard to know where the bottlenecks really are. It could well be that the muffler is more than up to the task, and the bottleneck is someplace entirely different.

those are great times! My best 60' on street tires(first few runs ever on the truck)were 2.10. I have a base model ST '04 ram-it cost me a few dollars(and a few mods Cool) to get my 13.98. I think the new factory 4-link helps a lot for launchs-anyone up for a '09 rear suspension swap?
