Well fri turned out nice so i made it to the track. I was running in full street trim with bed cover on. My best time was a 15.7 and average speed was 86 mph. I was able to get six runs in befor it started to get busy, 2x runs in the 16's and 4x all around 15. 7. I just wanted to see how much of a befor and after this sidewinder cam is going to make. I also had a full tank of gas and perf 91 on the superchip with all the settings maxed out and running o/d off. I wish i would have known i should have been taken off at the third yellow and not the green. I was getting beat a little, the only things that wanted to line up where the lightnings and all wheel drive wrx's and One mustang. I beat one single cab 1500 chevy, an older z28 that i thought was going to run circles around me but was only running mid 16's and a rx-7. I had my dad video all of them, he missed the 1500 chevy but i have the rest. And i have the time slips, super fun night for $10 to get in and $10 to run all night. If i go next weekend i might try stripping down the truck a little and leaving the fuel tank a little lower, any othe tips?

I would air up the front tires to 38-40psi and lower the rear tires to 28 psi.A 1/4 tank of gas or less, and, if your up to it-remove your front sway bar(for weight distribution)and your spare. If your feeling a little bolder, spring clamp your leafsprings at the overload spring to control wheel-hop(you can search 'spring clamps'on this site to find out in case you are not aware of this mod).Oh yeah,I was a little slow at the tree when i went for the first time last October.I averaged between .300 up to a disgusting 1.08 r/t,so,don't feel to bad.

What does raising the tire pressure in the front do? I have no wheel hop or tire spinning at all

Less tire on the pavement, thus lowering rolling resistance. professor

And that little trick my friends, is worth .1 off your et.... thumb2

I run 45 psi front and when running street tires
and 42 rear.

Most street tires will bite better with higher, not lower pressure. The trick is to get a full contact patch.

Do a few 20 foot burnouts and inspect the marks on the pavement. When you can see every tread mark in the burn path you've got the exact air pressure you need for that wheel/tire combination.

Light in middle you are too low, light on the outer edges...too high.

Have fun!

Take your tailgate and spare off and less than 1/4 tank of gas. My first time at the track was 5320 lbs and 15.4. The next week I went with 1/4 tank and no tailgate, spare or tool box and I ran 14.81 @ 4800 lbs.

I'll give it a try until i find someone to put this cam in. I went in full street trim just to see what kind of difference the cam will make.
I guess it would be good to know my times with the truck track prepped befor the cam as well!

And the sidewinder cam w/ the 6.1 springs and pushrods. Last time was w/ superchip this time will be with the SCT tuned by Hemifever. And last is the jetstream air scoop, now if i can just get down into the 14's! superscared
