well guys i finally took my truck to the track last night.i was really surprised how well it ran.i was expecting hi 15's but my first run was a 15.3launching at idle,i ran 15.2 by launching at 1500rpm when i tried more stall rpm the truck bogged out of the hole with no power,i tried several times and both times went upto 15.4.going back to origional 1500 launch,i ran several more 15.2's and finally a 15.14,i ran one last time and since the truck was shifting right b4 the finish line i decided to hold the tranny in 2nd.it hit the rev limiter the truck bogged b4 i shifted and i let off just a couple truck lengths from the finish line.the reult was a 15.5.i had a 1/4 tank of fuel and full street trim including spare tire and correct air pressure in tires.i had all the mods listed below except the egr block off and the 180 tstat,i havnt installed those yet. 14's here i come!burnout

What was your speed and 60ft time?

I hope to be there at the end of the month.

I am getting exhaust today!!

I also noticed that the truck would bog off the line if I stalled it too high or for too long. I did not run it enough to perfect the launch yet. Hoever, I think my best 60ft was with about a 1500rpm stall.

Nice times! I have yet to check mine... BTW -- How long were you holding 1500 stall off the line?

my 60 ft time on that 15.14 run was 2.2414 top speed was 88.69 mostly averaged 2.27. hi was 2.31,thats when i bogged out after reving too high.i would acually power brake n rev to 1500 b4 i staged, letting up on the brake just enough to ease forward til i broke the stage lights.if i staged first n had time i would let off n re-rev,but if the other guy got staged first,i didnt have time, our lights start very quickly once staged.i went around the water box but heated my tires,i got virtually no tire spin even with full tire pressure.yes dave,i want to go back without spare and jack, but i have a small problem i put one of those cool lights across the bottom of my tail gate that activates with tail lights and blinkers.i really like it,but it blocks the access hole for my spare tire let down.lol,im trying to figure out how to get my tire down without tearing up my light.i hope to get my 180 stat n egr block off on and remove my spare and jack, and return when the weather gets cooler.its still in the 70s here in southeast texas,i think a good high 50 deg weather will put me in 14s.anyway good luck need-a-cage,i hope you get 14s and kick that chevys ass. beer

Those are good times. You had a good 60ft and your speed was pretty high. It would be cool to hit 14's and run 90mph, but I think that will take more mods than I am willing to do with this thing.

I put exhaust on it yesterday and if feels slower! I think it may have messed up the AFR, but that is okay because I ordered the Diablo today.

I am putting a CAI on it this weekend and I will reset the computer and see if that helps.

opening up the exhaust probably hurt your low end.when i put my flowmaster on[my first mod] it felt less torquey, but felt stronger at 3000 rpm n up.I HAD NO WHEEL SPIN AT ALL THAT I COULD TELL.maybe a small chirp a couple of times when i hit 2nd.i think i have limited slip though because on the street from a dead stop it will leave 2 short 2 to 3 feet black marks when i punch it.i think need a cage said his wasnt a limited slip.i have traction control on mine too.i had a high 12 second firebird with traction control n limited slip dunno it wouldnt spin a bit with street tires.

When I stall my truck up all it does it spin the tires all the way through first, shifts to second, chirps, hooks, downshifts back to first and finally hooks and goes. I have no problems with bogging when I stall it up. I also have a stock LSD with 3.55 gears and 31" BFG all terrains. I can roast them as long as I want to on dry, smooth pavement. I wish I had 4.10s and some street tires.

Need A Cage, hurry and get to the track and see what she runs!

Mine does the same starchief with stock 20's and tires on a stock 3.92 LSD if I powerbrake it even a little bit. A quick mash of the gas off the line in that setup gives me my best 60ft time, and 1/4 mile time overall.

A trick I haven't tried yet, but I hear helps a lot is to take off yer front swaybar. Allows a quicker weight transfer to the rear wheels off the line. Stickier tires of course, but when yer looking for a budget mod, that ain't it, lol.

When I had stock tires I didn't have any spin at the track but I could roast them all day long on the street. My new tires are good in the rain and mud and rocks but terrible at the track and OK on dry pavement. I wish I still had my M&H drag radials!

Mine does have limited slip. I wouldn't have bought it without it! Mine does not spin much. If I try to power brake it and make them spin they only go about 15 feet. Well, I guess I haven't really tried that hard. On most pavement, if I floor it from idle it will not spin at all.

I am supposed to go to the track on the 30th. Starchief and Boss, what are your best 1/4's, speeds, and 60fts?

When I go back I will have my new exhaust and the CAI that is currently sitting on top of the covered Mustang begging me to install it. I am also hoping that my Diablo will be here by then. My wife just found out about the purchase and she was PISSED, so it better get her by then or I would have waited to order it. I will probably run a 15.2 unless I drop a bunch of weight. It might be worse if the Diablo makes me spin off the line!

I have spent sooooo much money this year on the Mustang and I finally finished it. I immediately started spending money on the truck. I just told her that it is a sickness and I can't help it!
