I've got 20K miles on my Daytona. I looked under the truck for a casual inspection and found that there is oil on the back side of my engine. If I'm looking underneath towards the front of the pickup, it's leaking from the left side. I can't pinpoint the actual spot. The leak hasn't formed droplets yet either.

But I suppose pictures would help.

Does anyone know what this could be?

Intake is of the "dry" type. Little chance of oil leak there. Head gasket, where possible, would be one in a million. Rear main seal, while also possible, is highly unlikely. Most likely candidate would be valve cover gasket, and second would be oil pan gasket. Spilling some oil while pouring, would look like that.

Just for my own curiosity, why do you say that? Because of the mileage? Or rare in these motors? Not questioning you, but like to add to my bank of knowledge which could use a deposit....or two....lol.

Older style engines using either rope, or two piece rear main seals where prone to leakage. Newer style motors with one piece seals last much longer.
