Has anyone seen this before. It's been cold here for the last few days. Around -5F. I got in the truck this morning after letting it run for around 15 minutes. When backing out of the driveway, I could not turn the wheel at all. It was not like the power steering was out and it was hard to steer it would not move. I did manage to get it loosened up a little, but it is almost impossible to drive. When I got a chance to look underneath it tonight, I found a hole in the boot on the end of the rack and fluid leaking from it. Time for a new rack I guess. 50,000 miles seems a little soon to lose a steering rack. Just in time for Christmas.

Yes, it looks like it's coming out of the end of the rack through the boot.

That's where mine was leaking from... I had it replaced since my 05 Durango was still under warrenty. Check and see but the "power train" should cover it since it holds fluid.

I went to a dealer about three weeks ago and as of then there was no recall on anything like that, but there should be! When looking to buy my truck last year two out of the three I looked at one 03 and one 04 were both leaking and the 03 was dry as a bone.
