Since the other day my oil pressure was dropping intermittently when the engine was cold. Today, I checked the oil, and guess what? Apparently, you have to have oil in your engine to have oil pressure. Who knew. dunno

So, I opened the oil cap to put the oil in, and there was A LOT of water/condensation on the oil cap. Anyone have a clue what might have caused it.

When I pulled the dipstick today, oil is brown, no white smoke in the exhaust. I will look at the coolant tomorrow....

Condensation

I had never seen condensation on an oil cap before. Didn't know if it was something to worry about.

It was about 11K miles ago. I use AMSoil 5W30 XL oil with AMSoil Filter. I typically change it at 10K, but have been really busy.

My 05 had it all the time. There was some articles on here somewhere about it. I know I wasn't the only one. It seemed to be normal for condensation under the cap.

That said, the brown oil would concern me a bit. 11K since the last change, I think I would just change it and monitor it with fresh oil. How many miles do you have on your 03?

Running too cold a thermostat will cause condensation as will running it for short periods. A hot engine clears itself of water vapor.
