Hey guys,
I got a problem. I am in Iraq right now and I was talking to my wife. She has been driving my truck everyonce in a while and the last couple times she drove it the Brake Light, ABS and Airbag light comes on. Sometimes its just the Brake Light and ABS and sometime all 3. She checked the brake fluid and it is full. I dont know if she should take it in or not, since we are stationed in Germany it is really hard to get a good mechaninc who speaks english or know any thing about our trucks. And the same goes for the AAFES care car center on base, they don't really have a good rep anyways. Sorry for the long post, any advice would be greatly appreaciated. Thanks in advance, Eric

Have her re-set the PCM for starters...
Also - does she know how to use the programmer to find codes (DTCs)?

First, thank for what you do.

Has she mention if the brake pedal feels fine or is it Hard to press or does it go straigt to the floor.

If the pedal feels fine, I would guss maybe a abs relay. But that is just a guess.

Could be the speed sensor in the rear diff. If it goes bad, gets dirty or generally throws a fit the parking brake and ABS lights will come on.

Mods...what mods??

Hey Guys Thanks for the replys,
OK, so I she went and pressed the brake pedal with the truck off and on and the brakes get firm like there supposed to. She sayed the speedodmeter works fine. She is going to see if the cruise works fine. So if it is just the lights with sensor do I need to replace and could I do it myself. I serviced the rear diff around 15,000 miles and now got about 29,000. I serviced it with RP. Here is a pic of the lights if that helps. Thanks in Advance.

See if she can run a diagnostic on the Superchip and see what codes it has.

Or do the following:

Start with the ignition key in the OFF position.

Turn key ON(not to start)-OFF-ON-OFF-ON.

CODES WILL APPEAR IN THE ODOMETER WINDOW.

Hope this helps.

same thing happens to mine every once in a while.
when i step on it off the line and then level my speed out my abs and brake light come on and stay on until i turn the truck off. when i start the truck back up they arent there anymore. this happened to me about 6 or 7 times already over a two month period. the brake pedal feels just like normal and the truck seems to be running great. i plugged my superchips in and no code came up. i am not sure what to do. any ideas?

iagree Mine went out and truck went crazy. Also could be a bad connection on a wiring harness. Check the speed sensor first. I thought mine went out the second time, but it was good. The dealer spent 4 hours searching for the problem, and finally found a corroded connector.
