Hey Guys and Gals,

I just rotated my tires for the first time since the truck has hit 5000 miles and I noticed that the outer edges of the front tires are worn uneven. It is a ramped wear pattern. If you look at the top of the tire, the tread toward the front is higher than the tread towards the rear. It might be the opposite of that I can't remember.

Anyway, someone told that was caused by bad shocks. I am going to get another opinion and have someone look at them when I get them balanced. I moved the rears to the front and now the steering wheel shakes a lot at 65mph. I can't believe the balance is that far off.

If the shocks are bad after only 5k miles, which ones should I get. I wouldn't mind firming up the ride a little. This thing does feel really softly sprung in the front for a full size truck.

Craig

Which recall would that be? I have not investigated any recalls so let me know about all of them for the 06 if you can.

I changed the "Hey Guys" for you in my original post.

I notice you have a Predator. Have you tried the new Crom and adjusted the shift points as I described in the Chips/Programmers Diablo Feedback post? If not, you should try it. The truck shifts MUCH better and doesn't get stuck in 3rd at 15mph refusing to downshift at anything less than 50% throttle.

Thanks,
Craig

I am so sorry,, yes my dumb a$$ is think about when I had that done (hub assembly) they had replaced my shocks but I had to wait since they were on back order... it didn't make sense that the shocks where on back order for 3 months. my tires were wearing the same way and I fought with the guy that it affects the tire wear as well.

Go to the middle of page 30 and find my post with the shift points listed. You need to load the 91 or 93 Performance tune but make these adjustments first. Also raise the rev limiter above your WOT shift points. I have my rev limiter at 6100rpm.

Anyone using KYB Mono Max shocks?

I will look into the recall.

Thanks for the info! I am getting the wheels balanced tomorrow as a first step.
