Hi every one.A first time poster here. Some info,
Ihave a 2008 1500 qc 4x4 hemi with 3.55 and 17 inch rims, 31.5 inch tires. Mod so far is just a magnaflow muffler with resonators removed.

I am definitely going to get 4.56 gears. One local mechanic quoted me twenty hours labor? Too high?

I have been reading the posts about nitrous and am interested in a 120hp dry shot. Now, I have read that with nitrous if the timing is changed it should be retarded, but with programmers, they increase the timing. Will this be an issue?

I am thinking of an AirAid CAI. Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.

I live in western Canada, elevation 2300' asl, if this matters.

Also what type of 1/4 mile times can I expect with these mods?

Thank you in advance.

John

BTW, this is a great forum!

John,

Any dry shot of N2O is NOT recommended on these trucks. Severe engine damage can and will result.

Please read through the performance post section on what most of us are doing and our results. Retarding the timing with a Superchips is easy, set for 87 octane mode which will pull 2 degrees of timing and a full range colder plugs will keep deadly detonation at bay.

That 20 hour quote is about 10 hours too much.

A competent drivline mechanic can do the job in about 8 hours or so with the proper tools.

Best of luck to you.

Thanks George,

It looks like I will go the route of Zex Nitrous Kit (wet).I will do the other upgrades first then the Nitrous. Also, I will keep looking for someone else to do my gear swap. Thanks again.

John,

A 100 shot with headers, cat back and programmer should put you in the low 14's @ 94-96 mph.

Just so you have a general idea.
