Anyone have any experience with the square Kickers? How do they compare to round subs? By that I mean is a 10" square sub comparable to a 12" round sub? Or is there a noticeable difference in low end? Just contemplating maybe getting a 10" square instead of a 12" round.

The square ones are Solobaric. After reading the new specs on the L5 it sounds like a great way to go. But Ive only heard one 15 inch sub in a focus and it was just crazy loud. They will hold more power.

Yeah, I have considered even a 12 since they are rated for lower cf air space. There is one here local too. But not sure I want to buy used. I would rather buy where I have someone to fall back on. I just always loved my 12" so it is hard to stray from something you loved already.

Yeah, once youve had a 12 its hard to go smaller. I built my first box for my truck for a 10. But it just wasnt enough. Then 1 wasnt enough. Ive had 4 12's in most all my cars.

I have a single 12 but its the L7. Its ported. Hits hard! I need a new rear view mirror, mine won't stay in place any more.

Make sure you get the newer design, too. They fixed some design flaws in them and they work a little better. They are durable as hell too. I pound the crap out of mine with a hifonix 1505D, its a mono amp capable of 1500 watts peak at 1 ohm, but I keep it at 2 ohms and turn down the gain a lot to be safe. I'm already looking at another one just because I liked that other guy's build where he just took the rear seat out for his mojos and digit designs...shit keeps giving me wood man!

If I can't get a good price on a 12" L5 I am just going to go with the 12" CVR like I had before. It was more than enough. I will just have to recut the box slow and steady. I am a little nervous about an L5 in the center console box anyways. The cut will have to be just right and it isn't like you get more than one chance.....lol.
