Looking to replace my head unit, but don't want to go crazy. Mainly listen to radio or iPod, brand is not important but I'd like a nice face and simpler controls.

Looking for something that has iPod controls such that I can put the iPod in the glove box and still charge it. A remote would be nice, not necessary, don't need the Sirius hookups but won't rule it out either.

Trying to keep the cost down, but get something louder and better than stock and not spend a lot of money. I'd like to add nicer speakers later, but no amp or subs.

Thanks!

Well,I bought my headunit based on excellent specs for the radio, and I can say that compared with the stock REF unit,my new one doesn't fare well. I listen to a lot of AM,and aftermarket tuners are normally really bad there. My Kenwood also says it is 8.9 dBf sensitivity for FM,which is excellent on paper, but I am sure the stock Dodge tuner picks up FM better.

I'm thinking more and more about just finding a really nice factory upgrade to gain MP3 capability, and calling her quits with the aftermarket. Frowner

One thing I did find out on Pioneer's website was that they do have a model that gives you wide EQ control for each source. That is sweet! Plus Pioneers do normally have decent tuners.

I am confused with that interface thing. I installed an Alpine in my 03 with the Infinity and I never did anything like that. The factory speakers sounded WAY better still. Does that mean it bypassed the OEM amp? I am confused.

I can't for the life of me remember the name or model, but my old silverado had a like 100 dollar walmart head unit, and it put this dodge stock one to shame on reception. dunno

Still a nice radio for 35 dollars. (truck didn't have one when I bought it).
